STRANGERS

I’m waiting for you but I don’t even know you.

I look for you in corners of streets, and behind closed doors. I try to find you in broken glass bottles and the waves of the ocean, to locate you in faded photographs and vibrant lights. I search my horizon when the sun turns orange at dusk, or when the night is awake in hopes that maybe, I will see you. I look for you in ghosts from my past and future, and in a parallel universe where all I ever dreamed of, is real.

Everywhere I go, all the time, I look for you and still, you never appear.

So I’ve decided something.

I’m going to stop looking. I’m sending out this message in a bottle, so that you, whoever and wherever you are, may come across it one day.

And then, maybe come find ME.
